Il mondo segreto delle api

CITTÀ DELLA SCIENZA - ITALY - 2024
Discover the world of bees: an immersive, interactive journey blending education, innovation, and environmental awareness.
About

Bees and other pollinators are essential for our existence, sustaining agriculture and biodiversity worldwide. With over 20,000 species of bees and various other wild pollinators, they face challenges from human activities, such as habitat loss, pesticide use, and climate change.
Città Della Scienza challenged us to develop a solution for their exhibition to raise awareness among visitors about the essential role of Italian bees (Apis mellifera ligustica) in agriculture, ecological balance, and biodiversity preservation, as well as the many challenges they face nowadays.
We believe that by engaging visitors with edutainment experiences, we can inspire a new generation of environmental leaders and empower them to make a positive impact on the world.

Screen / QR code interaction

An interactive solution features a stretch screen that provides visitors with an engaging, contactless experience. The QR code interaction enables visitors to control the screen using their personal mobile phones, allowing them to select the content displayed on the LCD screen. This solution is designed to capture visitors’ attention and invite them to explore the world of bees through appealing visuals and captivating content.

INTERACTION:
1. Scan the QR code.
2. Use the WebApp to manipulate the content displayed on the screen.
3. Explore the anatomy of the Italian bee in detail in the “Italian Bee” section.
4. Take a sneak peek into the Bee’s World and discover something new.
5. Learn about the differences between “The Queen,” “The Drone,” and “The Worker” by selecting them in your WebApp.
6. Did you know that the “Waggle Dance” is a figure-eight dance performed by honey bees? This dance communicates direction and distance to nectar, pollen, water sources, or new nest sites. Choose a honeycomb in your WebApp where you'd like to plant a flower, tap on it, press 'OK,' and enjoy watching the bee’s waggle dance on the LCD screen.

The goal is to entertain visitors with engaging content while providing valuable information about the world of bees.

3D Models & Animation

Our 3D artists have not only created realistic models of the Italian bee, allowing visitors to examine them in detail but have also brought the bees to life through animations. For example, visitors can watch a fascinating depiction of the waggle dance in action.
