Rom Boats Simulator

ROM was born in 2017 from the passion of its founder for motor recreational powerboats, with the premise of producing limited model series and numbered vessels, since ROM clients have every right to own a unique boat, different from many others.
Characterized by elegant and modern lines, unique and innovative design, topped by luxury finishes with exquisite materials not normally seen on boats, Rom Boats combine innovative technologies (in the manufacture of molds and fiberglass) to traditional and old-fashioned craftsmanship (hand-made carpentry and upholstery).
When ROM asked UNLOOP to develop a simulator for clients to customize their future boats to the smallest detail, we wanted to take the word "simulator" to the next level.

Taking inspiration from the sleek boats featured in James Bond movies, we reflected the style of ROM Boats in the user interface and 3D visualizations. The simulator is essentially a customizer in which the user can choose his boat model and personalize the finishing materials of the chosen model to his liking.

Customize It
Any custom vehicle simulator can show you how the final product would look like in a void; but what if we showed you how your own ROM boat would look like idle in a marina or cruising swiftly in a beautiful bay? How would the sunset reflect on its metallic finish? Or the sunrise? How would it feel to ride that unique boat under the night sky or on a sunny day?

We delivered to ROM Boats not just a dynamic 3D scenario with daytime control, but also a minigame. Once a user designed their dream boat, they could pick its virtual keys and take it for a ride in a checkpoint race. That way, even before the first piece of wood was selected for the hull, the boat owner could already hear the engine roar and see its masterpiece cut through the water, while the ticking clock gave them a taste of adrenaline rush.

Once the user has finished customizing and testing his ROM, he will have the chance to save his creation and request it online. At the Marina, the user can check and manage his “docked” ROM Boats at the mooring posts. Here he can manage his creations and even request his future ROM.

ROM Boats simulator is available for both Android and iOS, so the user can build their dream boat anywhere.

In March 2021, ROM Boats made a splash at the Cannes Yachting Festival with its limited-edition ROM 28 nominated for an award. To adapt to the post-COVID-19 era, UNLOOP developed an innovative solution—an interactive screen accessed via QR code—to engage visitors while prioritizing safety.
With the QR code interaction, visitors can seamlessly control the screen using their personal mobile phones, selecting the content they want to see and interact with. This approach not only captures their attention but also encourages them to explore ROM Boats further, thanks to captivating visuals and compelling content.
